Five Tips for Lingerie Modeling: Getting into the Business

Modeling can be a glamorous world of go-see’s and destination photo session but it can also be a lot of hard work. If you are interested in lingerie modeling but just don’t know where to start, here are five easy tips to increase your chances of making your dreams come true.

Take a Simple Photo and Headshot
When you are taking a photo to show to modeling agencies, do not take photos of sexy poses, just look natural. The first sign of an amateur are photos that are overly posed or “sexed up”.

Avoid Heavy Makeup
Even when modeling lingerie, a model’s face is still a canvas. Agencies want to see your natural beauty. A little makeup is fine but keep it extremely light and natural.

Never Pay to Model
This is a biggie! If an agency asks for money, they are NOT a legitimate company. Money should always flow toward the model not the other way around. There are many modeling scams out there. No matter how bad you want this, never, ever work with an unknown agency. Stick to agencies who work at a professionally recognized level.

Grow a Thick Skin
You may be turned down a billion times before you get a yes . . . or even a maybe. This often times has nothing to do with your beauty. Many times, they are just looking for a different look or edge for their lingeries.

Keep a Positive Attitude
Nobody wants to work with “that model.” If you are turned away from an agency or job, simply thank them for their time with a smile. The modeling world may seem big but it’s very tightly knit. Always, always keep a good attitude because word spreads extra quickly when someone is difficult to work with.

Above all, be a smart cookie. Modelling is the number one target for predators who prey on the dreams of young women. Never go to someone’s hotel or home. Never trust anyone without doing a thorough search . . . and once you do the thorough search? Run yet another one! Always be safe. Always.
