Traditional Slips are an Early Piece of Lingerie which are both Functional and Sexy

Even though the varieties of lingerie available are many, traditional lingerie slips are still popular to wear both under clothing and for intimate evening wear.

Under Clothing

Many dresses, whether for the office or for evening wear, benefit from the use of a slip. Slips are functional, but can also be sexy. In fact, even a plain slip is usually quite sensual because of its silky material and the way it clings and hugs the body. Traditional slips were probably one of the first lingerie undergarment pieces.

It doesn’t take much to transform a slip into a sexier lingerie item.

Lace

A touch of lace at the neckline of a slip takes it from plain to special. Lace is often found at the neckline and also sometimes at the hem line of the slip. Lace slips are best worn under clothes which won’t show the lace pattern through the material. Some slips have lace over the whole bodice, which creates an interesting and flattering piece of lingerie.

Take a slip to a new level. Find ones where the bust sections can be opened and accessed. It will still be functional during the day, but hold a surprise for later in the night time.

Skirt Slips

Some slips are only made for the bottom half. They are meant for using with skirts rather than dresses. Gorgeous lingerie skirt slips are available which have a cut up the sides which are often trimmed with lace.

Bridal Lingerie Slips

Many wedding dresses work well with slips, and some of the sexiest and sensual slips are available in the bridal section of lingerie stores. The detailing can be amazing, and although these are not generally cheap, they pack a punch.

Popular styles of wedding lingerie slips are spaghetti strap style with patterned satin and a decorative trim at the hemline.

Traditional lingerie style slips doesn’t necessarily mean boring.
