Finding Lingerie with DD Cup Sizing can be a Challenge 

Buying lingerie is no problem for most people, but larger chested women may find themselves with a bit of a dilemna. DD cup lingerie can be a challenge to find. Most lingerie is designed around 'average' sizes, which unfortunately consists of mainly A to C cups. Shopping can be a frustrating event when dd sizes are limited.

This situation happens more and more often, and not just in the lingerie and intimate wear department. If you stray from average with any type of clothing or shoes, chances are you will come across this phenomenon. Companies save money by designing for the sizes that sell the most, leaving many less common sized people out of luck.

Large Chested is Not Necessarily Plus Size

If you are large busted and you also have a larger upper body, such as in the case of 'Plus-sized women', specialty plus-size stores often carry a selection of lingerie to suit your needs. But the most overlooked sizes are those with large busts, but small chests. For example, someone with DD cups or larger but with 30-34 inch chests. Some stores do carry these sizes, but when they do they have very few and they are often sold out.

One answer is to have your lingerie custom designed. The advantage of custom work is getting exactly what you need in exactly the right size. The disadvantage is the cost. Custom clothing creation is very expensive and also very time consuming to get measured and have the work done. Not something you want to do on a regular basis.

Tailored Lingerie

Some varieties of bras and lingerie can be altered by a professional seamstress. If you find a piece in the store which fits in the bust area, but is too large around the torso or in the shoulder straps, you can buy it and have it altered. The back area can be shortened to a certain degree (depending on the bra.) Alterations are much less expensive than having an entire custom bra made.

Online DD Lingerie

Prayers may have been answered with the advent of internet shopping. With so many shops to choose from, the possibility of finding the right size is much higher. Online stores often carry a large inventory, which means a greater chance of getting the size you need. Once you find a shop who carries your size, you no longer have to travel across the city to get good fitting lingerie. Find more sizes in types such as bustiers, teddies, chemises and babydolls.
