Types of Lingerie Teddies

Teddy Lingeries Far from Boring: Variations will Spice up your Night

There are many types of lingerie, and within a lingerie type, there are many kinds of variations. Teddies are no exceptions. Most people picture a teddie as a one-piece incorporating a camisole and panty in one. This is true of most teddies, but variations lie in different cuts and styles.

Cut-away Teddies

Some of the 'barest' teddies have cut-away sides with a wisp of material covering the bust connected to a thong style panty. A few of these have an open bust rather than have any sort of coverage. If the top is connected to the panty, you can technically call it a teddy even if it is only a few straps connecting the two. Name you level of risque, and there is a teddie to suit your style.

Boxer Brief Teddies

For a change of pace, try a version with a form fitted boxer-brief style panty area. The longer bottoms give a cute sporty look, and can be ideal for women who want a bit of coverage in that area. The look is a modern twist and is popular with a younger crowd.

Skirt Teddies

When the bottoms are similar to boxer-brief style, but the sides are looser and flow more away from the body, a skirt effect is created. The result is a very feminine look and is a nice twist on the classic teddy shape.

Straps Galore

Basically a bra with straps connecting to a g-string or thong panty. Strap lines are very elongating and thinning, not to mention very sexy.

Sheer and Lacy

The material used in teddies is often see-through. Sheer and sheer lace are popular to create a more revealing bodice while keeping the classic lines.

Buying for Fit

Teddy lingerie can be tricky to buy since body length needs to be fairly accurate in order to properly fit. If you are ordering online, look for types with adjustable shoulder straps.

Fringes, frills, lace, leather, strappy - the combinations are endless. Don't think teddies are boring until you have a look at the huge selection on the market today.
